Introducing Cognitive Research into Teaching Languages

November 7-8, 2018

Language acquisition and language teaching have always been in the vanguard of education systems as language is the first phenomenon to be learnt by a human being. Hence, there is a huge variety of disciplines, and not only in the Humanities, deciphering the complexity of language. Our conference aims at bringing some of the disciplines together with the aim to enhance the integration of scientific findings in relation to the practical work of teachers.

This year the forum’s special feature is to discuss cognitive mechanisms impact on language communication, education and research. We are calling for talks and posters which may relate to the following aspects of cognitive sciences, teaching practices in English and Russian languages and inviting speakers to submit to the sections below:
Cognitive Mechanisms for Enhanced Language Teaching
The Future of ESP /EAP/ EMI in Higher Education Setting
The Jubilee Conference 2018 embraces the challenges of the future technologies, involves new dynamic audiences and welcomes language experts from various fields.

Participation Format:
– oral presentation,
– poster presentation,
– guest.

The Conference Proceedings are to be published in electronic version as a Book of Abstracts in NUST “MISIS” and indexed in Russian Citation Index. This online book is to include all submitted and accepted abstracts. The publication is due in December 2018.

Following the conference it is also planned to form a Collection of Articles / Essays on the main topics of the forum. The collection is to be published in the Numanities Series of Springer in 2019.

A special feature of the conference is the student poster section called “Young Voices of ELT” for Bachelor and Master students who are training to become ELT practitioners.

We also provide two travel grants (up to 10,000 rubles each) for Bachelor and Master students from Russian universities who live outside Moscow and Moscow region. The scientific committee awards the grants to two abstracts according to the following criteria: 1) the research is topical; 2) the results are well-documented and well-presented; 3) the research is unpublished elsewhere. The grant holder should provide the student ID and submit the travel documents.

for all participants and visitors – 2,000 rubles
for students – 500 rubles.
